“The Source,” located at 635 Elliott West, was built by Canadian artist and sculptor Sorel Etrog. Born in Romania in 1933, Etrog started his training as an artist at the Institute of Painting and Sculpture in Tel Aviv and continued his studies at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. His works are displayed predominantly in Canada including at Montreal’s Expo 67, and the Windsor Sculpture Park. Etrog is known as one of Canada’s most celebrated sculptors, and spent much of his career furthering the art form in Canada.
