Easy parking.
Good service at the door & bar.
Bonus: you can take adult beverages into the theater, so Sip don't Gulp!
We saw The Lehman Trilogy.
Unbelievable. Astounding. Three character Actors in stage for three hours and they were amazing.
Went in thinking "3 hours? Might have to leave at intermission, we can blame it on the babysitter".
Left thinking....No. Is it Really over already ?? Need More!!
Did Not want it to end. That Good!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kathy S.Sun Air Estates, Peoria, AZ784Feb 29, 2024
Monday I bought tickets to Phoenix Theater & immediately realized I bought them for the wrong time. I called the theater to correct them but they were closed for Presidents' Day so I left a message about the problem & asked them to call me the next day. I immediately went ahead & purchased new tickets at the correct time (at a higher price BTW).
I did get a phone message to call them back the next day. I called back & was told in no uncertain terms that they had a no refund policy. My response was that I still purchased tickets, that they didn't lose a sale & therefore the money, & that couldn't she make the exception to refund the money back to me. The answer was no but she did allude to the fact if I was a season ticket holder.... She did say she could give me a gift certificate. I asked to speak to her manager.
After a couple of minutes I was transferred to the manager and I explained the situation. I told her I understood the no refund policy but this wasn't a typical request for a refund. She, too, denied me a refund & again offered me a gift certificate. I said in the 14 years I've lived in Phoenix I had been to that theater twice including the upcoming show & I might not find something in the next year to see. She told me to give the gift certificate to someone else. I finally gave up & took to the gift certificate. She told me she did wave the service fee for me ($24). I told her l was very unhappy with their service & sometimes you have to make exceptions & that I would be leaving poor reviews where I could.
Phoenix Theater manager if you happen to read this or hear about this, it is review #1. Sometimes you need to look at the big picture, take in all of the issues, think if the policy makes sense for the circumstance, then make a decision. Go against the policy if it doesn't fit circumstance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 832283983Jan 3, 2024
We got tickets to see Elf before the Christmas holiday. Due to staffing issues, our initial show was cancelled. We rescheduled for a few days later and the rescheduled show was then cancelled. My suspicion is that some of the cast caught COVID and others fell ill a few days later. We rescheduled again and the third time's the charm!
We really enjoyed seeing the performance. It was true to the movie but original in many ways that kept the audience engaged and excited. It was a fun performance and a nice way to celebrate the Christmas season. The Phoenix Theatre Company is quite good! The actors and orchestra were very professional, we had no issues rescheduling our seats multiple times, and the venue itself is lovely. I can't wait to go see another play here!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2964598Dec 28, 2023
During my time living in Phoenix, I was able to visit Phoenix Theatre about a half a dozen times. I have to say, this theatre has been an absolute joy. They provide a range of shows from the known ones like "Singing in the Rain" and "The Color Purple" to the lesser known "Bandstand". The performances are always well done and leave me feeling fulfilled.
However, what I think I love most about this theatre is how devoted the production team is to telling authentic stories. In the audience at Bandstand, a show about a group of World War II veterans who push beyond their post-war struggles to pursue success as a band, I was lucky enough to sit next to the assistant director. I was struck by her passion and the importance of showing the struggle of World War II veterans.
Another show that I would like to draw particular attention to is Tiananmen. This show was the first of its kind, showing a fictional love story set in the very true backdrop of the two months leading up to the Tiananmen massacre. This massacre is not frequently discussed and (I think) had never been portrayed on stage. Phoenix Theatre's portrayal of Tiananmen even drew the attention of a real life Tiananmen victim, who attended the show and spoke a few words on the importance of remembering the event.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jeff M.Mesa, AZ38199Apr 16, 2024

Went here for the Wizard of OZ show and decided to get the dinner as well.
The performance was amazing and carries this review, the food and drinks were just okay.
The drinks did not taste that great, especially the martini. The starter salad was alright, nothing too fancy. For the entree, I got the salmon and my boyfriend got the steak. I couldn't even finish the salmon it was way to fishy, but the steak was surprisingly very good! For dessert, we got a slice of cake. It was supposed to have a red ruby chocolate slipper on top, but sadly ours didn't have one. If I were to return, it would be for the show only, not the dinner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 8, 2023Updated review
Yes now I remember why I don't like this place. The MainStage has such thin isles that every time someone gets up the whole row gets up. And, I'm short so as embarrassing as it can be I need 2 adult bolster seats to see.
Great shows mind you just lousy seatingHelpful 7Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1Jul 24, 2021Previous reviewClaustrophobic seats. If these things were any tighter I'd be on my neighbors lap. If anyone from the row gets up then everyone has to get up.

We went to see the musical show here for the first time. The parking can be a bit hard to find. When we got there right before the show started, most spaces were taken. The parking lot is shared (?) or next to Phoenix Art Gallery. Next time, we will plan to be there a lot earlier so that we did not have to park at another parking structure across the street. The theatre is nice. It is not too large and not too small. We enjoy the show at our seats in the loge/box.

This is my 2nd time watching The Phoenix Theatre Company and 2nd time leaving the theatre inspired! Such a great way to spend the evening and support the arts. Tickets are reasonably priced, or they sometimes offer a discount on Goldstar, or even student discounts. I never have a hard time finding parking in their lot out front of the building. Picking up my tickets at will call was also a breeze.
I love the small theatre (compared to Symphony Hall) and the energy. My friend and I sat in the very back row-thank you Goldstar- and we still could hear and see well. The staff is always friendly and willing to take pictures or answer questions. The actors were phenomenal in the most recent production of The Chorus Line-singing, dancing, acting! I laughed multiple times in The Chorus Line performance. I almost felt the stage was not big enough for them!
I saw Singing in the Rain last year and remember loving the stage effects and dancing. I actually bought tap shoes and dance floor right after! I am so happy this company is bringing the arts to Phoenix and I can't wait for the next show!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John L S.Mount Pleasant, MI020Mar 30, 2024
We enjoy live theater. We went to a performance of "Beautiful", The Carole King Story.
The theater is not particularly large, so all the seats are very good. I think the far outside seats may be a little roomier than the rest of the seating, but the sight lines are very good everywhere. The sound quality was also very good.
The performers were very good. This musical was filled with well-known songs and they were performed very well.
We really had a great time and will go again in the futureHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
