This year, spring officially begins on March 19 — which means it's time to start planning your transition from winter to spring decor. First and foremost, we always start with a spring cleaning checklist (which includes organizing and decluttering every room). Then, we look to cheery decorations, like fresh greenery, pastel colors and natural textures, to bring the feeling of spring indoors.
From the front porch to the living room or bedroom, we've rounded up spring decor ideas that are easy to implement. You can choose to make a statement with a fresh wallpaper design or new lighting fixture, or keep it simple with colorful throw pillows, brighter bedding or DIY spring centerpieces. The trick is focusing on design elements that can easily be updated, like curtains, rugs and throw blankets — all of which can be reused next year.
Other decorating ideas include botanical prints in the entryway, a vibrant shower curtain in the bathroom and a farmhouse-style spring mantel. If you're hosting a spring party or decorating for Easter dinner, we've sprinkled in spring table decor ideas that are ideal for entertaining (imagine colorful glassware, garden flowers and a woodsy table arrangement). Your spring makeover doesn't have to cost much either — try visiting your local dollar stores and thrift shops to pick up fresh decor, or try your hand at a spring DIY project.

Simple Flower Display

Seasonal blooms — think zinnias, nasturtiums and cosmos — turn a bare wall into colorful living art. This setup, made from painted pine boards and glass test tubes, enhances this sunny dining room corner.
Sticking with a woodland theme in this sunny bathroom, designer and photographer Sara-Ligorria Tramp paints the walls a calming green (Sherwin Williams' Topiary Tint) and swaps a boring white shower curtain for one filled with birds and flowers.
Warmer weather means you can pack away your winter layers, like heavy throw blankets and pillows. Refresh your bed with white sheets, floral pillow covers and linen throws.
From colorful glassware and pink placemats to patterned throws on the banquette bench, this sun-filled dining table is spring-ready. Garden tulips at the center of the table complete the look.
Turn fresh lemons and Baby's Breath (a perennial flower) into a unique spring centerpiece. You'll need two vases, one that fits into the other to recreate this idea.
Redecorate your bookshelf to match your mood this season. Trade winter decor and dark-colored books for brighter hues. Here, designer Megan Evans creates a rainbow effect, starting with bright red on top.
Brighten up the bedroom with a fresh pop of color — like baby blue. From the botanical Roman shade to the textured throw at the foot of the bed, designer Ryann Swan brings in beautiful blue accents.
Replace faux fur or knit throw pillows with lighter textures, like linen. For a subtle change in the living room, try touches of sage green and seasonal blooms on the coffee table.
Start your spring makeover in the entryway with a set of floral prints over a bench. Layer in pink and white throw pillows, wicker baskets and touches of fresh greenery.

Think outside the box the next time you fall in love with a graphic wallpaper design. If you're not ready to commit to installing it on your walls, consider the back of a bookshelf. It's just the thing you need to brighten up your room.
Head to the antique store (or your grandma's attic) to find candy-colored stem glasses to put on display. Arrange them by color, height or any other way that pleases the eye.
Turn your bedroom into a cheery escape, like this design scheme from Lisa Gilmore. Start by installing a botanical-inspired wallpaper along with bright curtains, and complete the look with a space-saving pendant light.
Wreaths aren't just for the holidays. Transform any bookcase into a conversation starter with the addition of an oversized wreath. Simply add a pretty bow and any faux citrus of choice to make it right for the season.

Indoor-Outdoor Living
Mark Scott
There's no better time to embrace the beauty of the outdoors than the spring season. Position your sofa — topped with vibrant pillows and throws — directly in front of your windows. All that's left to do is bask in the natural light.
Taking a design risk in a small space can be worth the effort. The best place to start? Eye-catching lighting. Choose a fixture in an energizing color to give your powder room a trendy look.
Stripes have a special way of bringing a room to life, especially during the spring months. Here, the green and white striped painted walls, paired with the woven accessories and nautical wall prints, give the space a coastal feel.

Pastel Curtain
Laurey Glenn. Designed by Ashley Gilbreath of Ashley Gilbreath Interior Design
Kick off the spring season by turning an unused corner of your home into a charming coffee station. Amp up built-in shelves with a pastel-colored curtain that's fit to hide everything from mugs to appliances.
While velvet is typically reserved for winter, these mustard yellow chairs prove otherwise. Even if you prefer to keep things simple, let the chair cushions add a pop of color to your dining room.
